23rd Psalm Study Guide Week One Now Available

23rd Psalm Study Guide Week One Now Available.
The 8-week teaching series on the 23rd Psalm can be taken even deeper with this study guide for groups or individuals. A new guide will be posted for each week.

Click here to get the 23rd Psalm Week One Study Guide.

Watch for each week's study guide, and coming later this week, the DVD with additional materials should be available. With the help of the study guides and the DVD, leading a small group through a meaningful study of Psalm 23 well be much more like a trip to green pastures than a walk through the valley of the shadow of death. So consider getting these resources for your group, OR starting a new group for this eight-week series!

For more information or help starting a group, contact Pastor Jerry McNamara at jerry@fishersofmen.org, or by calling the church office at 281-242-7711.

Christmas Toys Still Needed

As our caseworkers visit with their clients, we are finding many immediate needs that CAN be met without construction materials or labor.

Especially with the weather chilling, there is a real need for electric space heaters and blankets. Michelle and Noemi have come across families huddled around one small space heater for the entire home or using the gas range and oven to heat the area (very dangerous!!) As of today, they have found a need for 15 heaters and as many blankets as can be collected. Families also need warm clothing - especially coats for one particular 4 year-old boy. Of course, Christmas gifts (toys and gifts for older children) and artificial Christmas trees are on the current list, as well. Larger items of need include kitchen cabinets, paint, and other construction supplies. Some of the children have no bed. Anyone with furniture not in use, we would welcome the donation for our client and mission families.

To recap, we have an immediate need for the following:
  • Electric Space Heaters
  • Blankets
  • Warm clothing and coats (all sizes)
  • Christmas Toys (By December 15, please!)
  • Artificial Christmas Trees (6-7 feet tall)
  • Paint - interior and exterior
  • Furniture, especially beds
  • Building Supplies
  • Monetary contributions designated toward these items.
Please contact Gwen at 713-426-2451 or gwen@linchouston.org for more information. We wish you all a very blessed Advent and Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Gift Cards Make Wonderful Gifts

Kroger, Randall’s, and H.E.B. Gift Cards make wonderful gifts for family and friends and are ideal as “a little something extra” for employees, the person who mows your lawn, cleans your house, delivers your newspaper, or cuts your hair. They are wonderful stocking stuffers and are especially ideal for college age children or other children who live away from home. They can be used at any of Kroger, Randall’s or H.E.B. or any one of their affiliates anywhere in the country. Cards are available after our 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. worship services in the Narthex and during the week from Susan Yovich. Our church receives 5% of the Kroger and Randall Gift Card value from these grocers and 3% from H.E.B. These profits are currently benefiting our building expansion program. Your participation in these on-going gift card programs is greatly appreciated.
